Starting on a journey to become a health or wellness coach is not just a career choice; it’s a calling. Imagine waking up each day knowing you’re making a real difference in people’s lives. The freedom. “The only boss you need to listen to is your inner voice,” as they say. You can create your own schedule, work when your kids are at school, and take time off when they’re home. Sounds dreamy, right? But how does one get started on this path?

Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a Health and Wellness Coach

  • What challenges have I overcome that could inspire or guide others?

  • Why do I feel called to this path?

Clarity on your motivations will give you a strong foundation. Many successful coaches are those who have transformed their own health, faced obstacles, and now want to share what they’ve learned. Your story, no matter how small it may seem, can become the spark that inspires others.

If you’re unsure where to begin, start with your “why.” Author Simon Sinek talks about this in his book Start With Why. Even his TED Talk offers a quick reminder that understanding your deeper purpose is what keeps you motivated when things get tough.
